What a thrill it was as a kid to sit in the cart, staring at all the surrounding metal beams and neon lights, gently begin to rock back and forth as the wheel slowly turned, you felt a slight sense fear of the fact that you we’re getting more and more distant from the ground, reaching the highest point where you can get that view of the entire fairgrounds or possibly the pier by the beach, and be left in awe with that single moment that made you want to get on the ride in the first place, that “top of the wheel” moment.

Somewhere along the line, as we grew up, the Ferris Wheel seemed to be replaced by the ever-turning wheel of daily routine. Every day, every week, it's like we're on this boring, “adult” wheel that turns ever so slowly, and we get super comfortable on it. No longer do we seek a thrilling ride, no longer do we take the time to gaze upon the beauty of life, and no longer do we look forward to that “top of the wheel” moment, but instead it’s like we can’t wait to return to the bottom and get off the ride.
We need to make this wheel fun again! It’s time we go back to feeling that thrill in life as we sit in our cool little cart. Even though we may feel blind in darkness at times, we need to open our eyes and look at the beauty the light gives off. Even though we may get rocked back and forth by our circumstances, possibly our emotions or thoughts, we need to realize we have our metal support beams called true friends and real family that will keep you sturdy and safe.

Even though we may fear of reaching new levels of possibilities, even though your doubts will make you believe that you’re too high up and you’re going to fall, we have to acknowledge why we got on the ride in the first place, to reach that “top of the wheel” moment where you recognize that you turned out to be the awesome person you were always meant to be and here you are to embrace the view of your life at the top. It really is your choice.
A boring, bland, average wheel can make your life miserable.
A fun, colorful, thrilling wheel can bring the greatest moments and memories ever.
And the coolest part of that wheel is …
you get to go around and live it repeatedly if you so choose to.
