Ascend

Everything begins with a choice.

What comes after a choice is made is even more crucial, actually taking your first step towards your objective. It takes action to move up in life.

Sure, you could linger at the bottom of the mountain and enjoy its beauty at ground level. The rocks, trees, rivers and cascades, but you'll never truly understand your potential and how different your perspective can be once you reach the summit. As you make the decision to rise, to accept the challenge the mountain offers, keep your focus in every step you take. Steady your breathing and acknowledge that the beginning may at times appear simple, but it doesn't always remain that way.

For as the elevation rises you'll begin to feel the pressure, your patience will diminish, the trails will become rocky and treacherous, obstacles will detain you, slowly your legs will get weaker, you'll begin to doubt your ability to reach the top and question why you ever even began this hike in the first place. It's a struggle everyone has and is facing. It's a battle against your mind, body and spirit and the distractions of the world only make it more difficult.

If you are at your weakest, then seek that everlasting power that resides deep within you. If you're blind in darkness, then seek the light that will guide you. And if nothing but doubts and insecurity fill your head, then seek the truth of this reality and be in harmony with creation as it leads you on the only path to reach the most high. If you feel like giving up, I urge you to stay in the fight a little longer. Use every fiber in your muscles, every inspiring thought in your mind, every desire of happiness in your heart, and continue to find a way to overcome the obstacles that stand in your way. Let faith conquer your fear and press on!

Only those who are bold enough, those who don't mind a good fight, those who have the courage to seek more out of life, those who persist and take each step forward even when everything and everyone tells you to quit and turn back, only those who know the reward is worth the pain are the ones who understand how beautiful the view can be from the top.

No one is going to give that to you. You have to earn it with every single step you take as you climb. When you finally do reach the top, when your ascension is complete and you take in that breathtaking view of your life, remember the lessons the journey taught you. Remember those who supported and motivated you to keep going. Remember how strong it made you and then enjoy the view, recognize what it took to get you there and embrace your full potential as you claim your victory simply because you made the choice to ascend.
